Here goes nothing. My name is Gijs, biologist and I live in the Netherlands. I studied biology and during my study my interests in digital photography were born. First I bought a really cheap 5 megapixel camera which I brought along to many a party (Besides nature I enjoy a good beer). Somewhere in 2006 I bought my canon 350D (with a Tamron 90mm macro objective) and I replaced it with a canon 40D in 2012. That was also the moment when my tamron 90 broke and I replaced it with a canon 100mm. Since I'm one of those folks that doesn't read a manual unless I have to, it took me the best part of the period mentioned above to learn everything about my camera and I'm still learning. That's one of the reasons I joined all you folks on Deviantart; To show my work and to improve with the help from your comments!
Hello and welcome!
Here we go again. Onwards to unknown destinations. Holidays!!!!! This year towards Bosnia, Croatie, Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo and Serbia. With luck I'll be back in a few weeks with my belly filled with grilled lamd and my memory cards stashed with photo's.
And now on a completely different note; I'd like to thank everybody that takes a look at my pictures and sometimes even like them. I might not always reply with a "thnx 4 the fav" in fact I hardly ever do. I'd rather spend some evenings enjoying a dram of whisky browsing through the art of the people that visited my page to see if I can learn anything and sometimes
So finally back from my time hiking in England. Unfortunately my poor old tamron 90 mm macro objective broke on day 3, so the best I could do was trying to capture some nice landscapes (and there was definitely no shortage of nice views). Stay tuned!
